CONTEST/CONCURSO: Looking Back/Look Forward 2:31

This contest will end on Friday Januar 17, 2020 at 11:59 pm UTC Paris time.
Entries not answering the question or which are too late can not participate.

Memories

Some are precious some not but good to remember. It is a way to learn and improve or protect ourselves for worse.

I wrote for over ten years with prisoners.
They were not my first choice I was looking for a pen-pal. Pen pals are rare these days. No matter how many hours people spend with their computer, phone, on social media if it comes to writing a letter, sharing it is too much asked.
Somehow writing on paper works different. It depends on your mood what the letter looks like.

A national tv program asked me to tell about my experiences with pridoners.
I refused.
If you like to know how it starts writing with 20 different prisoners from different races, ages, and countries and you will know it soon enough.

A part of my pen-pals go home soon and some of them hope they can if they keep quiet and one knows he will never get out. He decided that his life, his place is where he is now. He is the eldest and the father and grandfather of the rest.

No matter how your life is, where you are or how others think about it: it is life! As long as you are not dead you have a life. Cherish what you have, the good things, focus on what you can. See it as a journey full of challenges, a game or a soap. If you can look at your life this way you know what to do, how to make the best out of it and may even discover that you are enjoying it.
