It's Saturday, and time for my weekly #SaturdaySavers update !
This is going to be a bit of a brief update, as it's late on Saturday night and beer has been involved in the evening....

Without further ado, here's my chart of progress this week;
Review of the week
This week had both HPUD and HBD interest arrive, which definitely helped the figures !
HBD continues to lag behind the goal, and even the interest didn't bring it back on target. I reckon I'll have to make a decision soon and take one of three options. The first is to increase my posting rate and find ways to increase the upvotes received so that HBD rewards really step up a notch. I'm not sure that's achievable, unfortunately. So I'll either have to find the fiat to buy some HBD, or accept that I won't be hitting this particular goal.
On a more positive note, everything else is on or over target, and both LEO and SBI's have already hit the goal. But in both cases I'm not going to stop doing what I'm doing. In the case of LEO, I'm happy with the rate at which rewards are arriving although I might need to buy some more in order to be able to meet the 150 LEO threshold for LPUD each month. As for SBI's, they're a small way in which I can give something back to the community, so there's no way I'm slowing up on those !
The next couple of weeks are likely to be crazy bust in real life, but I'm going to try to find the time to look at ways to optimise the various compounding effects to increase my HP growth rate. While my VESTs increase each week, the dial on getting to Orca status seems to be moving at a snail's pace, and it would be nice to find ways to accelerate the process without just piling scarce fiat in.
No Buy September
September was also "no buy" month, and I actually did really well during it. I didn't buy any crypto at all, and nor did I spend anything in fiat that could be considered an unnecessary luxury.
However, October might be slightly different ! Having spent some time working on the motorcycle, I've come to the conclusion that one component in particular might be faulty. Sadly, it's the electronic ignition. It is almost impossible to test accurately, the standard test is just to bolt another one on. So I'll probably have to bite the bullet, spend the £150 it costs, and hope that it cures the problem and there isn't something really insidious hiding further down the line that also stops it working !
If you're not familiar with SaturdaySavers, it's a fabulous initiative run by @shanibeer writing as @sally-saver on the @eddie-earner account, where we all support each other in getting to our savings goals.
If you are one of my friends reading this (or just someone who tripped over one of my posts), I really recommend this as a great community that's well worth joining.
I'm normally very disorganised about saving, and the support of the wonderful people in #SaturdaySavers has been invaluable in keeping me focused. I can honestly say that without it, my HP would probably be half what it is now.
So join ! You don't have to wait until the start of the year. The best time to start saving is ten years ago. The second best time is right now !
