Yesterday when I visited the family business I was asked if I would consider doing some crypto classes teaching those that are interested. This is not something I have ever considered as I have never seen myself as knowing that much. When you think about it we actually do know rather a lot just by being active in the crypto space for many years. We have years of knowledge, but it is not necessarily knowledge you can just pass on.
Anyone new to crypto is going to take a good few years to understand what we know already through being involved in a complete crypto cycle. I think you could teach someone the basics, but they also need to learn through their mistakes and you cannot teach someone everything due to crypto continuously changing with new development being added continuously.
Having been involved with crypto nearly 6 years already I am still learning and you tend to specialize in areas you know. I know I lack the knowledge in trading and DeFi, but that area has never been a priority for my strategy. There are so many ways one can be successful in crypto you can choose the path you are most comfortable doing.
Having started my crypto journey on Hive you would think very differently from others who have been investing and using twitter shilling as their go to for learning. It took me over 4 years before I started thinking differently due to now feeling comfortable and confident enough to do so.
The facts are where do you start if you have money to invest and understand the problem any newcomer now has. In crypto having some guidance is crucial having someone you could ask if you are not sure about something.
I do think a course could benefit people coming into crypto but only covering the real basics like the fact crypto does work to a cycle and history generally does repeat itself. This would have helped me starting out as who would have guessed it was that simple which gives you an idea of time lines.
I did reject the idea immediately when asked and still don't think it is a good idea due to everyone has different ideas and dreams of what they want to achieve. Spoon feeding people who think they are going to earn a fortune and not work at it themselves is not something I want to be part of.
We all know giving anyone any crypto advice is not financial advice and it is what you do with that information. Anyone investing in crypto now is starting out a good 6 years behind myself and cannot expect to have the same results immediately. We know this how you change on Hive due to taking years growing your support and does not happen immediately. Crypto takes time and cannot be rushed and those that are in hurry tend to fail and under achieve due to bad decisions.
One can understand why so many fail in crypto with some ridiculous stat stating only 10% of investors are profitable and 90% lose money. That stat surely has to change and will change once people learn and still cannot believe these figures are still the case today.
