Thank you and yes, it's great to see some new quality come up on Hive of a brand that was to my mind the very reason I began my participation in this blockchain.
My reason to participate in Hive from the beginning was to have a place of unconditional self-expression including discussing se0nsitive issues surrounding freedom regardless of active political censorship of any given country.
When first starting my journey on here as Steem I had rose coloured spectacles and believed in the power of blockchain just because people said it was so. I was traveling through Europe and Turkey and my friend from Ireland invited me, saying it was a good thing.
Because of this journey through Steem and now Hive, I now have a thorough understanding of this technology and I am connected to a community of people who are free and open-minded - no matter where I am in the world.
To me this is what Hive represents and this is what gives it its intrinsic value.
Not the millions staked by investors.
I feel the actions by the investors are often counter-intuitive to the platform's original aims. They've come on board and seen the potential for $$$ but ignored the FAQ - then gone on to treat people on here the same way people are treated in every other domain of distorted 'free' society.
And it's @acidyo that is accusing truthers of only being in it for the rewards. This is a very naive perspective.
Hive is a picture of gentrification - where a run down district is made popular by creative people and over time people with money are attracted to that district and when they move in, moving in for its hipness - then they impose their strict and rigid expression on it - which in effect limits its use to only those that are cashed up to use it and basically squeeze out the creative freedom culture that made them buy into that area in the first place.
It seemed more happy go lucky at the start - it began with a revolution and now we are falling head long into a form of dictatorship.
haha
We're all just humans and humans will do as humans do.
Unfortunately, many many puritan freedomites looking for a place to be themselves have come to Hive and have left just as quickly, realising it is little different to the rest of the world. Their accounts sit there gathering dust.
Call me blind and dumb, despite all of this I still see huge potential for Hive to serve as an emissary to truth in this dark age.
Some things however must change - this includes the potential for abuse through downvoting content based on political bias or subjectivity by large investors.
