I had obtained some early vintage pieces, including a California Crown Mint, also referred to as CCM. When the company first started in 1980, it released a lot of bars. They did make a few 1-ounce rounds, but their collectible and KitKat-style silver bars are what they are most well-known for.

The California Crown Mint created two bullion rounds in the commercial style; one had a crown on the obverse, while the other featured an eagle in flight with a flag.
I am lucky to have both.
California Crown Mint Crown Trade Round BU, 1 oz
The CCM emblem is a crown adorned with the initials M and G. These are the initials of Michael Graham, the previous president of CCM. The California Crown Mint operated in Woodland Hills, California.

Above the crown is the name of the mint "CALIFORNIA CROWN MINT* and weight and purity "ONE OUNCE .999 FINE SILVER" inscribed below.

Scales are on the reverse. It was a prominent design on many silver rounds used in trading units. Ivy sprigs can be found on both sides. "THE INTERNATIONAL" is written at the top, and "SILVER TRADE UNIT" at the bottom, matching it. The words "ONE TROY OUNCE" and ".999 FINE" are written on the top and the weight of "31.1 GRAMS" is listed below. The mint mark "CCM" is immediately below the scales.

They are extremely scarce, making them highly collectible.

One of the most common ways to buy silver is through bullion rounds. Compared to coins of equal weight in silver bullion, their premiums are substantially lower. Investing in silver rounds yields a higher return on investment than purchasing silver coins.
The price of round silver is far closer to the spot price of silver than it is for equivalent 1-ounce silver bullion coins. .999 fine silver bullion, or 99.9% pure silver, is nearly always used to make them. That is why silver rounds are highly appealing due of their low silver bullion premiums.
But these are vintage silver rounds, and some come with premiums because they can be considered collectible silver. Of course, this is a matter of preference. Some individuals do not care about them, and thus it is not worth paying the premium for the silver round.
