I hope we are all doing well. Today I’d like to talk about an interesting topic in my opinion. For me, this topic affects all of us in one way or the other. For some of us, we can deny that it doesn’t affect us in any way, but whether it affects us positively or negatively I can say it affects all of us.
Motivation plays a big role in all of our lives. Motivation comes in many forms. Some of them are sayings and some of them come in the form of money. In hives, the situation we can say that our motivation is from the upvotes that we get after spending all that time to make that wonderful post. For people who have been in the ecosystem for a very long time, upvotes are not the only thing that motivates them. For some people, a valuable comment is what motivates them to continue going and writing posts.
In the schooling situation, good grades tend to motivate all of us to put in the hard work. At times you put in the hard work and well it doesn’t work out, what do you do? You look at the mistakes and try to correct them.
Having to think of a favourite quote for me is one of the most difficult things to think about right now lol. I have a lot of favourite quotes and well it’s becoming more and more difficult to just look and say yes this is that favourite quote. It has come to a point in time that I now have my made-up quotes. Maybe I’ll use that one but before then let me tell you the story behind that.
Before joining Hive, I was on another blockchain. The blockchain activities were very similar to have but it was slowly becoming centralised. I can say it was already centralized before I joined but it was becoming more and more centralized so I decided to leave and after a while, I heard about hive. I already knew about the challenges of joining a new blockchain without an audience but then I was ready. I knew that writing alone couldn’t get me the audience that I demanded and as such I needed to put in the work.
When I started blogging it was demotivating at times. A lot of the time I would write blogs without a single visit on the blog. It didn’t matter much to me as I kept on going. The quote that kept me going was “Keep at it, it doesn’t come easy but eventually, you’ll get there”, and well I was right. After so many blogs I finally got several visits on a post that I submitted for the weekend challenge. The comments on that post were overwhelming and all I could do was smile.
In the time of not getting comments or upvotes on my blog, I had to put in the work. I went out and sold myself out there. I looked for people all over my favourite communities and commented on their blogs. For my favourite authors, I made sure to always be on their blogs looking for a thing or two to learn from them and I did learn good things from them.
It wasn’t easy but it finally came. The hope of seeing or getting something at the end kept me going hard and strong even if it was going to be after years. It didn’t take years though but it did take months. But then those few months made me enjoy the journey and well here I am today.
