And these things are generally not turned off.
I agree, once the Fed takes power, it's tough to ever get it back. I can think of one instance of overreach "turned off" and that is rationing in 1945. Only a single generation ago, all gasoline and many food and luxury items were rationed in the US. But they turned it off.
Could you imagine if the Feds said "only half a stick of butter per week" or "only one red bull" today? There'd be riots. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rationing_in_the_United_States
it was almost impossible to turn off all of the welfare, regulations, taxes, and fascism that came out of the 1930
I believe the 1930's "New Deal" was the formation of the Fascist / Socialist "Deep State" that has been undermining our country for decades. I would say their two biggest "successes" were their public education indoctrination program and the Federal land grab of the west. Both huge losses for the American people - they stole our greatest assets: our minds and our lands.

There have been a number of "wins" for Trump, but I have a funny feeling that the last four years of Trump will have more compromises than the first four years of Trump. I hope I'm wrong. If we see Marshal Law, I hope we also see some big names going to prison for a long long time. Big names that were previously thought untouchable.
