Bapia Sweet Potato
Bapia is a snack that is quite famous in my area. However, bapia is usually made from flour, so this time I want to make bapia using sweet potato as the basic ingredient. So, for the filling, if I usually use nuts, this time I will make it from chocolate. Yes, children really like chocolate. The ingredients needed when making this snack are as follows!
Materials Used
8 tablespoons wheat flour
Chocolate to taste
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 teaspoon salt
Enough cornstarch
Today I want to make bapia for my nephews, I want to bring them this snack as a souvenir. Yes, they like chocolate filling because it is their favorite taste. And what a coincidence I had leftover chocolate some time ago when making date snacks. So it will be very easy for me to prepare this simple snack. I am very sure they will definitely love this delicious snack.
Procedure for Making Sweet Potato Bapia
To make sweet potatoes, you don't need many ingredients, and the process of making them is very simple and of course there is no frying process here. Making bapia is only done by roasting and I do this process on a simple Teflon. And for those of you who don't have an oven, it will be very easy to make it at home.
Step 1
Cut the sweet potato into small pieces, then wash the sweet potato thoroughly so that no sap sticks to it.
Step 2
Boil the sweet potatoes until soft, now add a little salt on the tip of a teaspoon so that the sweet potatoes have flavor.
Step 3
Once cooked, remove and drain the sweet potatoes, then let the sweet potatoes cool so that the making process is easier.
Step 4
Mash the sweet potatoes with the tip of a fork until smooth, so if you want to mash them with a chopper, that's fine, just don't use water.
Step 5
Once the sweet potatoes are smooth, add salt and granulated sugar.
Step 6
Add flour then stir the dough until it is smooth and easy to shape.
Step 7
Take a spoonful of the mixture then flatten the dough, add the chocolate filling inside.
Step 8
So, when forming the dough, use cornstarch so it doesn't stick to your hands. So, the shape of the dough resembles a bapia with a round, flat circle shape.
Step 9
After the dough is finished, bake the dough on non-stick Teflon. I added a little butter during the baking process. Don't forget to turn the dough over.
