Today, I present you the 5th post of the series on painted garage doors in the streets, especially in the alleys of Montreal. Many owners ask artists to paint their garage door, it avoids having tags without any artistic value. So here is a new selection of garages that have been transformed into a perfect canvas for Street Artists.

Aujourd'hui, je vous présente le 5ème article de la série sur les portes de garage peintes dans les rues, enfin surtout les ruelles de Montréal. De nombreux propriétaires demandent à des artistes de peindre leur porte de garage, cela évite d'avoir des tags sans aucune valeur artistique. Alors voilà une nouvelle sélection de garages qui se sont transformés en toile pour Street Artistes.

You can find garage doors everywhere in Montreal, Canada. But today these are examples that are essentially located in the Plateau Mont-Royal neighborhood.

WaxHead & Cryote

This artist duo has been painting together for many years. And I've already written many posts about their murals done in Montreal. Born in Toronto, WaxHead is an artist and creature designer. His style is quite unique and very recognizable. His nickname comes from school when he used to draw dripping heads. And Sebastien Millar aka Cryote is an Ottawa-based artist now living in Montreal, member of the 203 crew. I think this work is from 2020 because they used a "medieval style" theme with armor.

Ce duo d'artistes a l'habitude de peindre ensemble depuis de nombreuses années. Et j'ai déjà écrit de nombreux posts sur leurs murales faites à Montréal. Né à Toronto, WaxHead est un artiste et un créateur de créatures. Son style est assez unique et très reconnaissable. Son surnom lui vient de l'école quand il dessinait des têtes dégoulinantes. Et Sebastien Millar aka Cryote est un artiste d'Ottawa maintenant aussi installé à Montréal, membre du collectif 203. Je pense que cette œuvre date de 2020 car ils ont utilisé un thème style Moyen-Âge avec des armures.

JF LeBlanc

JF LeBlanc is a French artist now living in Montreal. This work was done because the owner was tired of seeing her garage door being tagged. She decided to call an artist to paint it and here is the result, a beautiful portrait of Leonard Cohen and now since 2017 no tag 😀.

JF LeBlanc est un artiste français maintenant installé à Montréal. Cette œuvre a été réalisée car la propriétaire en avait marre de voir sa porte de garage se faire tagguée. Elle a décidé de faire appel à un artiste pour la peindre et voilà le résultat, un superbe portrait de Leonard Cohen et maintenant depuis 2017 aucun tag 😀.

In the Gilford alley in Montreal, this garage door has been painted in a very "kawaii" way by an unknown artist. Not a big fan of the style, it looks like the paintings that were at my grandparents' house 😀. On the other side of the street, on another garage door some stickers and collages

Dans la ruelle Gilford à Montréal, cette porte de garage a été peinte d'une façon très "kawaii" par un artiste inconnu. Pas très fan du style, cela ressemble aux tableaux qui se trouvaient chez mes grand-parents 😀 . De l'autre côté de la rue, sur un autre porte de garage quelques autocollants et collages :

We go in the middle of the jungle with El Diab while staying in an alley near Saint-Hubert street towards Beaubien metro. / FR : On part en pleine jungle avec El Diab tout en restant dans une ruelle près de la rue Saint-Hubert vers le métro Beaubien.

I know it's not a garage door but a simple door. But I really like this work with this rather angry face. The style rings a bell but I can't find the artist's name 🤔. / FR : Je sais que ce n'est pas une porte de garage mais une simple porte. Mais j'aime beaucoup ce travail avec ce visage assez énervé. Le style me dit quelque chose mais je n'arrive pas à retrouver le nom de l'artiste 🤔.

This double garage door is really beautiful with this crocodile done by Harie Luigy. I'm not sure of the artist's name since I couldn't find anything about him. Another point, there is a clean door and the other one covered with dust. Strange.

Cette double porte de garage est vraiment superbe avec ce crocodile réalisé par Harie Luigy. Je ne suis pas sûr du nom de l'artiste vu que je n'ai rien trouvé sur cet artiste. Autre point, il y a un porte propre et l'autre couverte de poussière. Étrange
