Mexican Murals - Varying Levels of Graffiti in Mixcoac [CCC's Street Art Contest #245]

The other day I passed by one of the many painted walls in Mexico City's Mixcoac neighborhood (on Los Echave, close to the corner of Charco Azul.) It was made up of various sections, probably created by different artist - with unequal skill levels. It was kinda neat to see the progression.

The image on the left I probably would not even have noticed, as random mediocre tags are such a common sight all around and everywhere. More or rather less recognizable letters, making up something or another... It really doesn't stand out, or anything. At least it has a skull in it!

The next image, directly to its right is a bit more sophisticated. It's also merely graffiti, but compared to the first one it actually looks good. I mean, it's also supposed to be some lettering, which most likely has some underlying meaning that will remain a mystery to me. But in it's entirety it create an image that is pleasing to the eye to look at. Also, this one seems to make better use of colors than the first one.

With the third picture, once again adjacent to the previous one to the right, we're getting into the wonderful blending of light and dark, which the technique of a spray-can allows a skilled artist. And here we can also see a skull (if that's what this alien shape is). But what a difference it is to the first image! Unfortunately I couldn't get a good shot of it, due to the proximity of the street, and the cars parked by the curb blocking the view.

Here is another attempt. As you can see, in this mural we can also clearly see the artist's identifying mark. Unfortunately a search did not come up with any definite muralists. Maybe you can find out who's behind this work?

The final mural in the series is another graffiti, but this one is displaying some well practiced skills. It even includes a human (like) face.
