To continue with my Murals of the Angles series, though I am clearly not in Los Angeles, I want to present the second mural I found in the alpine village of Crestline, California. Much more than posting any old mural I see, I would like to participate in the weekly CCC's Street Art Contest. If you don't know about it, I highly recommend to check it out. The contest has been going on for 86 weeks now, and over the year-and-a-half (or more?) a good number of appreciators have gathered to share the coolest murals, graffitis, and other forms of street art. Anyone can participate, though by now posting a simple mural of a hiker ... well, at least it may get some recognition. Which is cool! Great job Street Art Community for maintaining this contest.
A Mural of a Hiker, Taken by a Hiker
Ha, not even this is true! When I shot this picture I happened to be walking to the grocery store to buy some beer! However, I do enjoy exploring the natural beauties of the area, and indeed, walking has deemed more satisfying that riding my bike. The roads around here tend to be too curvy, too busy, and with hardly any shoulder, I feel safer sticking to my hiking boots. Of course even there I have to admit that most trails end up dissolving into the woods, and before I notice, I find myself simply walking among the giant trees. Though the forest is pleasantly loosely grown, so I don't have to result to beating through the bushes... in most cases.
Let's See the Mural
Just as the mural in my previous post, this wall painting can be found on the main drag, across the street from the very old-west-saloon looking Stockade bar.
The creator(s) of the mural is once again the GenesisMuralCo, a family run, local, mural business, responsible for most if not all the murals in Crestline. Go ahead and check out their site! If you're vigilant, you may even see the mural I am going to post next week. In fact, let me commit myself to something: If you can guess which Crestline mural I am going to post next week (which you can find on Genesis' site - just send me a screenshot in the commets), AND if this mural wins anything at the Street Art Contest, I will send you my winnings! I know, it's not much of an offer, I'm just curious who is going to run with it.
Cheers to all!
UPDATE:
The 86th contest is over, and as expected, I am not among the winners. No biggie! (Congrats to all of them, however, for submitting some really spectacular murals!) However, my offer still stands, if anyone would like to venture a guess. Since I have no winnings to put up as prize, it will be whatever earnings this post generates. And I mean the entire amount, in HIVE, as it is stated by the time the payout rolls around. Should there be more than one correct guesses, the winner will be the first one to submit the correct image in the comments. Does this sound like a deal?
