Johan Moorman: Power to the People

On the side of the parking garage located on Spuiboulevard 304, you will find a mural made by artist Johan Moorman called Power to the People. The mural is made in a typical Johan Moorman style: Colorful and M.C. Escher like

The artist

Johan Moorman, born in 1979 in the Dutch city of light (Eindhoven), graduated from the renowned Willem de Kooning Academy for Arts and Design in Rotterdam.

He gets his inspiration by M.C. Escher, old 3d games like qBert and old Lego catalogs, and is heavily influenced by De Stijl (neoplasticism), Pop art, and the Memphis Group.

He is also know for his cover poster for Kraftwerk's 2013 3d concert series, Bataleon snowboard graphix and pattern designs for Jess Oberlin clothing.

Streetart Tour Dordrecht

Dordrecht hosted a Streetart competion back in 2016 (Iconoclash, part of Beeldenstroom Woordenstorm festival), with Simian Switch as a curator. The winners of this competition would be invited to share their mural art in Dordrecht at the time of the Beeldenstroom Woordenstorm festival in 2016 and a streetart festival in 2018.
