Can you hear the sound of life?
Heard in the laughter of children at play
Can you hear the sound of voices singing?
Feel the magic and joy they bring
Can you hear the laughter? Can you hear the music?
Sing with your heart, it's the song of life
Can you hear it, can you feel it?
It's the magic in your heart
It's the music, the sound of life
Thinking about Christmas, this song was the first one that pooped my mind: Sound of Life by Jose Marie Chan. It's one of his iconic songs that I've heard since I was young. Time truly flies too fast. Just a few more weeks, and we will be reaching the end of the year. Alongside are recollections, realizations, and evaluations about things, life, and, of course, goals. Are you at that point now? Maybe you want to wait until December to do such things.
Our recent travel to Christmas Village at Manila Ocean Park brought me happiness and sadness. Happiness, because it's my favorite holiday of the year when I enjoy the grand Christmas displays here in Hong Kong. Sadness, because it'll be the very first Christmas that our father isn't with us. You are probably aware of his passing, which happened just recently. It makes it hard for me to move on.
Anyway, these photos were taken, as mentioned above, at Christmas Village. We found this exhibition after following the Trails to Antarctica. After seeing some cute penguins, we were excited to see the Christmas Village located next to it.
Before entering the place, a board with different Christmas traditions from different parts of the world caught my attention. I let my mom pose with the Philippine Christmas traditions and symbols.
Looking at the photos made me crave Filipino Christmas dishes and miss our traditions. No one can deny the fact that Filipino Christmas is the best. That holds true with its claim to having the longest Christmas season in the world. The longer the celebration, the more joyful Christmas is.
We entered the Christmas village, and my niece was mesmerized by the light effects. He even wanted to chase them. He sat down on the landscape of snowy terrain and was curious about the white ground he was sitting on, along with the glowing lights surrounding the village.
We saw giant penguin statues, and we let him sit in between them. He was too curious if they were real, so he touched them both. But penguins didn't give a budge, lol. After the little tour around the small Christmas village, this little guy felt tired and looked for his milk bottle. Poor kiddo.
My mom enjoyed the place too. Well, I guess it was her first time seeing a Christmas Village exhibition. We always decorate our home with Christmas decorations, but it feels different being in a Christmas village, albeit unreal. The photo booth with Santa at her back was pretty. Today, by the way, is her birthday. Can you make positive wishes for her? Gracias!
I wish I could be at home this Christmas. I badly missed it!
