This morning, my wife and I ran the local Keynsham Dandy race. When I say local, the start of the race is only a couple of hundred yards from our house, so it would be rude not to take part.
The race is described as 12 country miles, which, according to my Garmin watch, equates to 19.7km.
It's a full-on trail race mostly going along very muddy footpaths across fields and through woodland.
It also incorporates two sections where you have to run along streams. The first one being thigh high water for about 100 yards, the second being easier at about a foot deep for 80 yards or so. There was a photographer taking pictures of us, so if I find them, I'll include them later in the week.
It was a very tiring run, although immense fun. I managed to come 84th out of 167 runners. My wife beat me by about 3 minutes coming in 69th place.
And finally today we went to the local hotel for Sunday lunch. Absolutely fantastic food, and as my wife works in the kitchen during the week, the owner came out and refused to bill us for the meal.
Awesome day.
Thank you for reading, and I'll be back tomorrow.
