My Actifit Report Card: August 7 2023

In my corner of the world, the sky is known to put on quite a show after weeks of relentless rain. The heavens have finally granted us a break from their torrential downpour, and I found myself irresistibly drawn to the cornfields, walking boots on and camera in hand. It was as though I had been granted a backstage pass to Mother Nature's magnificent performance and the anticipation was delightful.

The cornfields are not just fields. They are a canvas where the setting sun dares to paint the grandest portraits. And I, being an avid audience to this spectacle, was ready to capture a story on my camera. As I began my walk, I was greeted with an orchestra of sounds, a fusion of the wind whispering secrets to the corn and the distant melodies of returning birds.

The sun was ready for its daily retreat, preparing to dip below the horizon. It graced us with its most generous display of colors, its luminous hues sinking into the seas of corn, weaving a tapestry of molten golds, burnt oranges, and passionate reds. The once monotonous cornfield was now a roaring ocean of bronze, a place where the earth and the sky met and melted into one another.

I took two pictures, each a distinct capture of that ethereal moment. In the first, the sun was a golden disc hovering over the corn, kissing the tips and setting them ablaze. The second picture portrayed the following moments, the sun a mere hint of light leaving the world basking in its afterglow. I hope these images can do justice to the spectacle I was fortunate enough to witness.

As I stood there, I was reminded of the simple pleasures of life, often overlooked, but right in front of our eyes. And how, after weeks of battling the dark clouds and heavy downpours, there is always the hope of the setting sun, a promise of brighter days, of vibrant colors, and of quiet walks through the cornfields. It was a testament to the resilience we all have, mirrored in the tenacity of the corn, standing tall despite the trials of wind and rain.

In this moment, nature offered a gentle reminder of life's ebb and flow. The sun that sets will rise again, and the rain that pours will eventually cease. These two pictures serve as proof that every day ends with a masterpiece, and it's up to us to take the time to appreciate it.

As the saying goes, "After every storm, there's a rainbow," and sometimes, a stunning sunset over cornfields too. So here's to more clear skies, enchanting sunsets, and simple moments of joy amidst the everyday chaos. Until the next weather update, keep looking for the sunsets.
