After the Storm: Embracing the Wind and Clouds

In the aftermath of Storm Ciaran, today was a day of contrasts. The residual winds whispered tales of yesterday’s fury, and the cloudy canvas above hinted at the storm’s remnants. But amidst this, nature showcased its resilience, and so did I with three determined walks.

The day began with a sunrise walk. The sun, though occasionally veiled by clouds, painted the sky with soft hues of pinks and oranges. Every gust of wind felt like a gentle nudge, pushing me forward, encouraging me to embrace the day’s challenges.

Lunchtime brought no photo-worthy moments, but it was a walk filled with reflections. The world seemed to be taking a deep breath, recovering and rejuvenating. The winds were milder, and the clouds seemed to be deep in thought, making me appreciate the silent moments in nature.

As the day neared its end, the sunset walk brought another palette of colors. The sky, a blend of purples and golds, was a canvas of hope and a promise of brighter days.

Altogether, these walks contributed to an impressive 16k steps. But more than the numbers, today was about witnessing the world after a storm. It was about understanding that there’s beauty in the aftermath, that there’s calm after the chaos. Every step taken today was a step of gratitude, for nature’s lessons and for the ability to find joy in the simplest of moments.
