Hey dear actifitters and readers,
I'm getting lazy regarding my Actifit reports. Actually lazy is the wrong word as I'm quiet busy in the recent days. But yesterday we spent a beautiful day outdoors in an abandoned stone quarry.

We met in the Kaiserstuhl in southwest Germany near Niederrotweil. Niederrotweil is a small mainly surrounded by vineyards.

Wheather conditions couldn't have been much better and we had a perfect sunny day in early autumn.

The view was very clear and we could see the Vosges at the French side of the Upper-Rhine Basin very well.

Our meeting point was in front of the small chapel St. Pantaleon.

We started the hike from there. The first part led us through the near forest on a small path.

We finished the passage and had about half an hour walking through vineyards.

Grape harvest is already finished but from time to time we found some leftovers. The fruits were delicious and a tasty snack.

After about an hour of walking we reached the quarry and took a first look from above.

The quarry is declared as a nature reserve and only accessible in autumn.

For me it was the third visit and I remembered when I came here for the first time with expectations.

I was overwhelmed by the canyon like atmosphere.

We spent at least half an hour at the place and left the quarry at other side.

Here are still some walls, machine parts and tracks left which made it interesting for us.

We finished our adventure back home in town with some fries and a drink at the lake.

I feel very happy about this lovely day and looking forward to the next weekend.
