It was a nice fine morning so I took a walk around the local Ifield Mill Pond with my wife. We were welcomed by a large congregation of Canada Geese with young goslings.
They were so friendly and came up so close that one of them nibbled my finger as I was taking a closeup.
We carried on through the park.
There are some islands where the birds nest safely away from predators but some some choose a more exposed place!

Later I spotted a heron quite close by. It's rare to get a good photo of a heron but I only had my mobile phone so it's a bit blurry on zoom!
