After a day of shopping and looking after our five year old granddaughter it was time for a burn out on my mountain bike!
It had been a lovely sunny morning, but the clouds began closing in during the afternoon, so by the time I had left for the ride it was dull and overcast.
But that didn't put me off. So off I went.
First stop at Buchan Park lake.
I made my way towards Tilgate Park via a mix of roads and tracks. I was actually making up the route as I went today to make it interesting.
I passed by the lakes on the outward part of the ride because I would be returning via the main lake later. There weren't many people about, probably watching the events of the Queen's Platinum jubilee I expect.
There were two hill climbs on this route and a very fast but bumpy downhill too! As you can see by the altitude graph.
After the long decent I reached the railway crossing and then back up through Tilgate forest to the lakes.
A really good ride today, I like evening rides, it's a good way to burn off the tension and stresses of the day.
Here's to the next cycle ride. 🚴😀
