Happy Anniversary to us-@silvertop and myself!
On a very hot July 11th, we said our wedding vows in Cincinnati, Ohio. That was 42 years ago today! My oh my, where does the time go? It can’t have been that long, can it? It doesn’t seem like it! I married my best friend back then and he’s still my best friend now! 😘❤️
We planned today to go to our favorite Oceanside hike-Bellingham Bay and Boulevard Park. We always hike over to Fairhaven and back. Once we’ve descended to the park from the street side parking, one of the first things you do is cross the railroad tracks.
There apparently was a ghost train as nothing ever came down the tracks, that is, at least nothing we could see!
We continued on across the boardwalk that is suspended over portions of the bay, and on into Fairhaven.
The Zodiac was in port. This boat was initially constructed for the Johnson & Johnson heirs, but ended up in another’s hands. You can read about today’s ship here: https://schoonerzodiac.com/
As you can see from the photo, it is quite the sailing ship!
It was a beautiful hike as usual; not really hot and breezy enough to warrant a light jacket at times.
We stopped at the Woods Coffee shop that’s along the route to enjoy mocha frappes and blueberry lemon gluten free scones! Quite tasty and a much needed snack at that point.
After we got home, we got in the new hot tub. It was lovely!
