My Actifit Report Card: June 27 2023

Yesterday was another exhilarating day of mountain biking adventure in Buchenholz. I couldn't resist the urge to hit the trails once again and experience the thrill of downhill action. The weather was perfect, and the air in the forest felt refreshing and cool. I started my ride at 5:30 a.m., eager to make the most of the day.

As I descended the trails on my mountain bike, I felt a surge of excitement and joy. The rush of adrenaline was invigorating, and I had an absolute blast. However, after a few intense downhill runs, I began to feel the exhaustion creeping in. It was time to take a break and recharge.

I decided to roll towards the stream of Wupper, where I rode a bit upstream. Along the way, I noticed several benches and, unfortunately, some debris left behind from people's weekend parties. Among the litter, I spotted two empty cases of beer, mysteriously missing the bottles. I couldn't just leave the mess there, so I took it upon myself to clean up.

I collected the scattered bottles and cans and picked up the litter. Utilizing a reusable zip tie, I secured the two empty cases onto my backpack. It felt good to contribute to the cleanliness of the area and do my part for the environment.

Before tackling the third climb, which seemed quite challenging with the added weight of the collected debris, I decided to take a short break. I enjoyed a peanut butter and jelly sandwich to replenish my energy levels. It was a quick but satisfying refuel that prepared me for the next leg of my journey.

With renewed vigor, I hopped back on my bike and continued riding upstream, making my way towards the hills of Vohwinkel. The slow ascent allowed me to take in the picturesque scenery and enjoy the serene surroundings. It was a peaceful ride, and I relished the tranquility of the moment. And it just passed 7:30 a.m..

While passing through Gräfrath, a charming little town, I stumbled upon a house guarded by a ginger cat. Intrigued, I called out to the feline, and to my surprise, it came over to me, welcoming my attention. I couldn't resist petting the friendly cat, and much to my delight, it decided to accompany me on my downhill journey. However, as the speed increased, the cat eventually couldn't keep up, and I had to bid my newfound friend farewell.

Overall, it was an eventful ride filled with adrenaline, nature, and unexpected encounters. I'm grateful for the opportunity to explore the trails, contribute to the cleanliness of the environment, and make a connection with a furry companion. These are the moments that make life's adventures all the more memorable.

Til the next ride.
