My Actifit Report Card and Update: September 28 2023

Hi Everyone,

I've had a busy week posting content. I have set a personal record for most number of posts between Actifit Reports. I posted 11 times; 2 on my @spectrumecons account and 9 on my @captainhive account.

Outside of posting content, my life has been reasonably quiet. Grocery shopping, walking Mango the dog, and looking after Hamlet and Lily (pig and goat team). A few days ago, I helped my sister film a short video for 'Animal Equality'. Ruby dog had her stitches out from her operation. She is doing great. Money is a little tight but still able to get by without needing to sell crypto.

My two posts on my @spectrumecons account were contest posts. One was the contest itself and the other the results post. This month's contest was the Tax Game. Participants were required to set the tax rate for a very small unnamed country. They were required to set the tax rate for 3 years. An existing tax rate and national income were provided. Ranges for parameters that related to income sensitivity to tax and social costs of reduced tax revenue were provided. Using these ranges, the actual parameters were generated by an Excel Model.

To win, participants needed to obtain the highest national income minus social cost from the three years they set the tax rate.

The turnout for this contest was a little disappointing. Only 8 accounts entered, which is the lowest for any contest this year. It is possible the contest was a little complicated. There were several equations participants needed to understand in order to make good estimates for their tax rates. It is also possible that I lost some participants because of problems linked to the Challenge Series. Hopefully, things will pick up for next month's contest.

On my @captainhive account, I have started publishing chapters from my book Sapien Loop. I publish a new chapter every day. Just before this update, I published Chapter 9. The first four chapters made up the Prologue for the book. These chapters explain the world that the story of the book is based in. It is arguably the most essential part of the story. The other 5 chapters are from Part 1. I have introduced several of the main characters for the book. The next few chapters will explain how important events unfold that set the tone for the book. Many more chapters to come.

This book will have over 100 chapters. The chapters are shorter than most fiction books but shorter chapters are easier to post as blogs. Short chapters felt appropriate for this fast paced book. If you have time, go over to my @captainhive account and sample a chapter. Below are the links to the chapters published so far.

That wraps up this week's Actifit Report and Update. I hope everyone had a good week. I wish everyone a superb weekend. Stay active if you can.
