At weddings in my country, most brides pick a fabric from the market and raise it at exorbitant prices for their friends to buy called "aseobi ".
I don’t buy it though at least not for my wedding. It should be a celebration and not an avenue for compelling individuals or friends to spend so much more than they bargained for.
If they do want to spend, they should, out of free will.
The beauty of it, however, is the colourful event. The attire of the same colours and designs is sewn with different styles. Some are more dramatic than others.
I sewed the first with a busy lower part all the way to the side. As posted in the past.
Then the pencil gown with a keyhole opening on the chest and a very busy arm.
It fits my friend and customer like a glove. She was so happy.
I sewed another before the last aseobi which was a floral chiffon fabric.
I had to place it on brown paper so it shows better against the black tiles.
Then the third. A laced sweetheart neckline pencil gown which I am yet to get feedback about as she picked it up by 9 pm today.
Now I can sleep easy and wake up feeling airy and at peace😌 Thank God🙏🏽
I am alive and grateful. Hope you are too.
