Bunaken Island is an island located in North Sulawesi, Indonesia, to the north of Sulawesi Island. It is globally renowned for its extraordinary underwater beauty. This area is part of Bunaken National Park, which has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Bunaken National Park covers approximately 89,065 hectares and consists of marine waters rich in biodiversity. Bunaken is also known for its spectacular coral reef walls that rise vertically to considerable depths.
