Although I've been doing portrait photography on and off since 2019, it's still not really in my photographic comfort zone. But since my girlfriend and I made ourselves comfortable over the Christmas holidays at home and didn't leave the warm, cozy bed very often, we came up with the idea to finally try a portrait shooting together again after almost one year. Our results from this home shooting I would like to present to you today.
Obwohl ich mich seit 2019 immer mal wieder mit Porträt-Fotografie beschäftige, gehört sie noch immer nicht wirklich in meine fotografische Komfort-Zone. Doch da meine Freundin und ich es uns über die Weihnachtsfeiertage zu Hause gemütlich machten und nur sehr selten das warme, kuschelige Bett verließen, kam uns die Idee, nach fast einem Jahr mal wieder ein gemeinsames Porträt-Shooting zu versuchen. Unsere Ergebnisse aus diesem Home-Shooting möchte ich euch heute präsentieren.

Since I don't have any equipment like flashes, reflectors or softboxes at home, we had to rely on a window and the ceiling lamps as light sources. Unfortunately, we could only start about an hour later than planned, which meant that the daylight was no longer sufficient to keep the ISO in the low range. However, apart from that, our improvised lighting worked quite well.
Da ich kein Equipment, wie Blitzgeräte, Reflektoren oder Softboxen zuhause habe, waren wir auf ein Fenster und die Deckenbeleuchtung als Lichtquellen angewiesen. Leider konnten wir erst ca. eine Stunde später als geplant starten, wodurch das Tageslicht nicht mehr ausreichte, um den ISO-Wert im niedrigen Bereich zu halten. Abgesehen davon funktionierte unsere improvisierte Beleuchtung aber ganz gut.

While all the shots shown so far were taken with 35mm focal length, at the end I changed the lens to take a few more close-ups with 85mm and take the background out of focus a bit more.
Während alle bisher gezeigten Aufnahmen mit 35mm Brennweite entstanden, wechselte ich am Ende noch das Objektiv, um mit 85mm noch ein paar Nahaufnahmen zu machen und den Hintergrund noch etwas stärker aus dem Fokus zu nehmen.

Post-processing was then done in Lightroom and Photoshop, as always. For a spontaneously improvised shoot, we were more than happy with the results. How do you like them?
Die Nachbearbeitung erfolgte dann wie immer in Lightroom und Photoshop. Für ein spontan improvisiertes Shooting waren wir mit den Aufnahmen mehr als zufrieden. Wie gefallen sie euch?
