Blue hour, neon lights and reflections on the pavement - what great conditions I had for these glass ball photos at the famous Seattle waterfront! I experimented with different apertures and once again realised that an open aperture is not always the best choice. I think the background blur in the first shot with F11.0 is completely sufficient and very harmonious. I also like the second photo with a slightly wider aperture of F8.0. For the third picture I chose F2.8 and that was clearly too much for my taste. Here you can see the strongest bokeh effects in the background, but the whole picture looks a bit too soft and even the Lensball is not completely in focus. What do you think? Which version do you like the most?
Blaue Stunde, Neon-Lichter und Reflexionen auf dem Boden - was für tolle Voraussetzungen hatte ich für diese Glaskugel-Fotos an der berühmten Seattle Waterfront! Ich experimentierte mit verschiedenen Blenden und dabei stellte sich für mich wieder einmal heraus, dass eine offene Blende nicht immer die beste Wahl ist. Ich finde die Hintergrundunschärfe in der ersten Aufnahme mit F11.0 völlig ausreichend und sehr harmonisch. Auch das zweite Foto mit minimal offener Blende von F8.0 gefällt mir noch recht gut. Für das dritte Bild wählte ich F2.8 und das war für meinen Geschmack eindeutig zu viel. Hier sieht man zwar die stärksten Bokeh-Effekte im Hintergrund, allerdings wirkt das gesamte Bild etwas zu soft und selbst die Glaskugel wird nicht zur Gänze scharf abgebildet. Wie seht ihr das? Welche Variante gefällt euch am besten?
