Greetings everyone, how has the week been for all of you? It's been a rather fruitful week at work. Today's post will be Music Spotlight, my current game progress, results of the last giveaway and the new giveaway this week.
Music Spotlight
Today's Music Spotlight, I will be sharing on an Indie band that I first saw during St Jerome's Laneway Festival back in 2013 when it came to Singapore.
This band that I would like to share is called Of Monsters And Men.
Before I start on the band, I would like to do a little sharing on St Jerome Laneway Festival. It is an annual music festival that originated in Australia, known for its focus on showcasing emerging and innovative artists across various genres. Laneway Festival is known to feature a diverse and forward-thinking lineup of artists, helping it to gain popularity among music enthusiasts looking for fresh and unique sounds. The festival often takes place in unconventional, urban locations such as laneways, city squares, and parks, which adds a unique charm to the event itself. On top of the unconventional event locations, the festival often incorporates elements of visual arts, food, and various installations, making it a multi-sensory experience for attendees. For year 2024, it will be happening across many cities in Australia and New Zealand, if you happen to be there, do join in the festival.
Now back to the band itself, Of Monsters And Men is an Icelandic indie folk/rock band consisting of 5 members.
Nanna - lead vocals, guitars, piano, organ
Ragnar - co-lead vocals, guitars, melodica, glockenspiel
Brynjar - lead guitars, melodica, tambourine
Kristján - bass guitars, egg shaker
Arnar - drums, percussion, melodica, glockenspiel, accordion, keyboard, piano, acoustic guitar
Wow, some of those unique instruments used by the band are what I see in Rising Star Game. And truly I tell you, when the band plays, they sound really awesome. If you wish to hear all the instruments come together, do really check out the music by the band.
Their debut album "My Head Is an Animal" features a mix of folk and indie pop with a touch of Icelandic influences. And when I first hear them live at Laneway Festival, I was captivated by the uniqueness of their music. The whole festival crowd came alive when they sang "Little Talks".
When the band sang "Don't listen to a word I say", everyone shouted "Hey". The interaction between the band and the crowd was awesome. The song is like an anthem and filled with energy. The songs they create have memorable melodies and are emotionally resonant, not forgetting that it also incorporates elements of nature and the Icelandic landscape, which make it a treat to listen to them. Their music continues to evolve, and the band is still active in the music scene, creating new music and touring internationally.

I love both Little Talks and Dirty Paws and it's hard to tell which I prefer more. Do check both videos out. Their latest album is Fever Dream, which includes many awesome tunes, do check the album out as well.
