Hello! I haven't posted anything in what feels like forever. This chapter kinda got dark at the end, but I like how it turned out.

When I woke up Jordan was whispering to some girl in the corner of the room. I sat up. Jordan looked up and noticed. "Oh, your awake," she said. I nodded. "Who's this," I asked, motioning to the other girl.
"Alex, this is Coraline, but everyone calls her Cory. She's my best friend. Cory, this is Alex, my...new friend," Jordan explained. Cory smiled at me and shook my hand. "Pleasure to meet you." I gave her a small smile. "You too.”
There was an awkward silence for a minute. "Well, I and Cory are going to work," Jordan said. I looked at her. "No!" Cory looked at both of us, confused. "I'm gonna go to the restroom," she said, excusing herself and leaving. Jordan looked at me, hands on her hips.
"Alex," she started. "I need to go to work. I can't hide in here all my life." I sighed. "I know. But with someone planning on killing you, you need to be careful." She shook her head. "Alex, I'm going. I don't know what to tell you." I suddenly got an idea. "Well, then I'll come too!"
"Alex," Jordan tried. But I had made up my mind.
The set was unlike anything I had ever seen. Everyone was running around. Spotlights shined everywhere. There were at least fifty cameras at every angle, facing the set, which now was a cave.
"Ah, my favorite little actress," a man said, coming over with his arms wide as if he wanted a hug. Jordan smiled. "Hi, Jackson." The man looked at me and for a second his eyes looked fearful. Then he smiled again. "And who might this be?"
"I'm Alex Quek sir," I said. Jackson furrowed his eyebrow. "Strange, I thought I saw that name in an obituary once." "Oh, um, my grandfather had the same name as me,' I lied. Jackson nodded.
"So, what scenes are we filming today," Jordan asked, changing the subject. The two walked away, talking about the scene and whatever else actors and directors talk about.
"So, are you an actor," Cory asked, coming over. I shook my head. "I tried once when I was little for Romeo and Juliet. Right before I went on stage I threw up." She gave me a sympathetic smile. "What part were you playing?" I looked down. "Villager 2."
A girl walked right into me. "Watch where you're going," the girl said, walking by. Cory rolled her eyes. "That's Ann. She's a diva." I looked at the girl. She was talking with some guy. The guy seemed familiar. He was muscular and was scowling, though he didn't seem unhappy. It was like his face was stuck like that.
I knew this dude. But I couldn't place his face.
A spotlight lit up the set and I realized they were beginning. Jordan was in it. I sat down in a nearby chair. I had to admit, this was gonna be boring. Look, I'm sorry, but I never watched much TV as a kid.
I stuck my hands in my pockets and felt something inside. It was a sketchbook. I didn't know how I didn't remember it. I took it out and grabbed a pencil from a table nearby and started to sketch out random things.
"You like to draw," Jordan asked, coming over. I guess she was done with her scene. I nodded. She looked at the drawing. "Cool."

We were in the car (she has a chauffeur, which I guess is not surprising) driving to Jordan's house. It was dark out. There weren't any cars on the road, which is pretty surprising. I was about to fall asleep when I heard a loud beep. I looked at the front window to see a man standing there. No, it wasn't a man. It was a kid my age wearing a black cloak. He had a scythe in his hand. The chauffeur turned and crashed into another car. Then another car crashed into us.
I took a deep breath and looked at my arms. They were burnt and cut all over. My leg felt broken. I looked over at Jordan. She was unconscious and was burnt and bruised all over. She was breathing, but her breaths were shallow and jagged. "Help," I shouted. "Please somebody help!"
I tried to move but everything hurt. "Help! Please!" The kid appeared out of nowhere. "Alex, you need to come with me," he said, his voice calm. It was Nick. "Nick, please. We need to get to the hospital," I said. Nick shook his head. "Alex, don't make this harder than it has to be. Jordan needs to die. And you don't belong here. Come with us willingly and you won't be sent to the Place of the Broken."
I couldn't believe what he was saying. "Nick, you know I can't do that." Nick shook his head. I heard a siren coming closer. Nick sighed. "I can't let them see me, but I'll be back, Alex. Please make the right call." Then he disappeared, leaving me shouting for help as the siren's sound grew louder.
Dun, dun, dun! I'm surprised this chapter turned out decently. Also, since I'm curious, what do you think about Nick? Do you think Jordan and Alex will be alright? Stay tuned to find out!
