EIA's tears
Part 1
In a not too distant future where technology has taken over human life and all social spaces, a race of androids was born with full autonomy and awareness in their social environment.
These androids existed only to serve and care for humans: their creators. They will never harm them, they will never disobey their orders. They are technically servants and slaves who did the hard, back-breaking work, while the humans performed more relaxed activities.
In this future, humans were becoming extinct due to the great war of the century and a lethal virus, which even after many, many years was still in the air, taking the lives of thousands of people. For this reason, scientists created androids that were almost human, except for their feelings, which is the only thing that differentiates machines from people.
EIA is a servant-type android who was in charge of the household chores, she also took care of her human child named Sara, while the parents went to the office. EIA was a very efficient machine, she had everything very well organized and took good care of Sara, who has become very fond of the machine.
It is her only company all day long: she would tell her things and play with it. Sara wished that her EIA was human so that she could feel the affection she lavished on it, but EIA is cold and only did what the girl told her to do. The machine gave her everything she needed, but it could never replace the love of her parents.
One fine day EIA went out with Sara to the park: it was a beautiful day, the sun was shining high, the dogs were running around, the children were playing and enjoying the pleasures of life. Sara was very happy playing with her EIA, suddenly everything changed.
Nearby there was a protest against the machines, there were some humans who did not like the androids and how they had relegated the role of people in various productive sectors, generating more poverty. These people demanded the destruction of all androids.
The crowd approached where EIA and Sara were, the leader began to shout that they had to destroy that machine. They started to throw stones at her, EIA perceived the danger for her human. The android carried the girl while she ran away trying to get her safe and sound.
The humans ran after EIA shouting at it to let go of the girl, while they continued throwing stones at it, they reached a dead end, the people shouted expletives at the machine. EIA protected her human and turned her back to the people to prevent them from hurting her, she knelt down and covered Sara with her body. The little girl was crying inconsolably and asking them to stop.
One of the men took a stick and hit EIA in the head, blowing it off. Sara screamed desperately, at that moment a police patrol arrived and the men ran away leaving the machine behind.
The policemen rescued the girl and the Android, taking them to the police station, after a few hours, the parents arrived for Sara and ElA. The girl was very distressed and said "Where is my EIA."
One of her parents replied, "we'll take it to be repaired, don't worry, honey."
After a few days EIA arrived as if nothing had happened to her. When Sara saw her, she ran to her and gave her a big hug. The Android did not know what to do and remained unmoved by the show of affection, but she felt that something inside her was being born. She did not know what it was, she had never felt anything like this.
In the streets the protests against the androids continued. They were calling for a mass extermination of the machines, months went by and the demonstrations became more violent. A group had been created under the name 'The White Skulls', this group started to eliminate Androids and their goal is to make a total extermination.
In Sara's house everything took again that routine dye, but there was something different in EIA, a cascade of emotions began to bloom inside her. She thought that maybe it was something wrong with her engine or mechanical parts, what she did know was that she had begun to feel a special affection for Sara.
Now she was not driven by her software, but by something stronger that she felt inside her, she was happy to be able to express that love to the girl. EIA loved her child like a mother loves her child, but why did she suddenly feel this way, she was still trying to find the answer.
Meanwhile, in the streets 'the white skulls' led by their leader, took over the capital and claimed power for themselves, already in control of the government, the leader declared martial law. The army had orders to eliminate all androids without exception.
All was confusion and fear, thousands of metallic bodies were piled up in the cities, those humans who helped the androids would be eliminated along with their machines. Sara's parents saw this and decided to hand over EIA, they had to protect their lives at all costs.
Sara heard this and immediately went into uncontrollable tears, her friend and companion would be killed. EIA now knew what fear, pain and anguish were, she did not want to be separated from her child, she refused to do it, but Sara's parents had already called the soldiers, who were ready to take the android away.
