When we last saw Bruce and Lilac, they were stunned to learn that the crime bosses Evan and Sandra are Grady's parents. Evan was injured helping one of his guards escape to warn the rest of the estate. Will Bruce, Lilac, and the INTERPOL agents succeed? Or will Evan's sacrifice pay off?
"Let's get out of here before we have company!" exclaimed one of the agents. Quickly they propped Evan between two men. Then the group made their way to the front door.
The leader stopped, and began to examine the walls and floor. "Let's make sure there aren't any nasty surprises preventing our safe departure."
A young man stepped forward, his eyes still alert to his surroundings. "Yes Sir, Agent Pireza."
After they carefully scouted the exit, Agent Pireza motioned them forward. They were already outside when they heard the heavy footfalls of men running. Slamming the door shut, they made a run for it.
The two men assigned to Evan picked him up, and ran despite their awkward load. Grady was forced to hurry, by the agent in charge of him.
"I can't believe we're almost free!" Lilac exclaimed, as she and Bruce ran as fast as they could towards freedom.
When they arrived at the waiting helicopter, they found the rest of the team fighting for their lives. Bullets were flying in every direction! Two men were lying still. It was unclear if they were injured or worse.
Agent Pireza glared in the direction of the gunfire, and swore under his breath. "Move! Now! We'll send in reinforcements to rescue any hostages. Our first priority is to extract those two, and capture the leader of this ring," he said pointing out Bruce, Lilac, and the three prisoners.
Between flurries of gunfire, everyone made it into the chopper. "Status?" Agent Pireza barked harshly, looking at the two still forms.
"Both Agent Filoa and the pilot will live, Sir. But who's going to fly this bird?"
Bruce leaned forward, grinning. "I'm a registered helicopter pilot. Agent Pireza, permission to get us out of here, please?"
Glancing at the rapidly advancing guards, Agent Pireza nodded. "Granted! What are we waiting for?"
They took to the air, in what felt like the longest liftoff in history. The fact that there was a small army heading for them at a fast run seemed to turn seconds into hours.
But they finally made it! As Bruce made a beeline for civilization, there were smiles all around. Everyone was celebrating. Except for the prisoners, of course.
"What are we going to do?" Grady asked his father, in a whisper.
Just then the helicopter lurched.
