Goddess Of Darkness: More Trouble?

Just when it seemed that Bruce and Lilac's adventure was over, the helicopter suddenly lurched, ending the celebration. Will they finally get to go back to their adventurous but mostly safe lives, or is there more trouble ahead?

"You might want to have a look back there," Bruce said grimly. He steadied the chopper, nodding in the direction that they just came from.

Everyone looked back, and Lilac groaned. "And here I thought I'd be having another pizza for dinner tonight. Don't they ever give up?"

There were two helicopters in hot pursuit, but they weren't close enough to easily catch up. Bruce used all of his skills to make sure that they never got close enough to fire any weapons.

"They sure are persistent," commented Agent Pireza, the leader of the INTERPOL group.

Looking back, Bruce nodded. "They'll never catch up, and we'll be in Rio soon. How are the injured men doing?"

"They're conscious. The sooner they get medical attention, the better. WHAT THE - "

When they were within sight of Rio De Janeiro, a small fleet of helicopters rose from the ground, directly in front of them.

The whirling blades were so close, they were almost underneath the INTERPOL chopper! There was no attempt at an attack, but they were obviously trying to prevent the agile craft from reaching its destination.

Bruce skillfully maneuvered them out of immediate danger. However they were still in a very tight spot.

"Can you get us into Rio?" asked Agent Pireza.

"Sorry Sir. They're counting on us either making a run for the city, or surrendering.

"What do you suggest?" he asked the veteran pilot.

"We can't go through them. And I'm not sure how you feel, but personally I'd rather not visit their little retreat again."

Agent Pireza nodded in agreement.

With the fleet in front blocking them from the airport and other desirable destinations, and pursuers rapidly closing in from behind, Bruce had to choose which direction to flee to.

Would it be the ocean or the jungle? "Anyone here have a set of lucky dice?" Asked Bruce, grinning as he was debating his next move in this aerial game of chess.

Agent Pireza looked at him in amazement. "You're having entirely too much fun! You do know that we're basically trapped, right?"

Bruce raised an eyebrow. looking back at the seasoned agent, he chuckled. "After what I've been through lately, this is like a sightseeing tour!"

One of the younger agents reached into his pocket, and withdrew two dice. Reaching forward, he handed them to Bruce. "They've never failed me yet. But don't worry, they're not loaded!"

"Thanks, I'll have to give them a try soon!" Bruce exclaimed, as he evaded another attempt to ground the chopper.
