Hey @alohaed, bit bummed to see your post.
Last week I was at #hivefest in Mexico. Hive watchers and a few other downvoting accounts were heavily talked about as causing new users to leave.
Shoot first is bullshit.
A never before flagged account should be vetted and asked questions, not downvoted on entering.
It happened to an amazing musician I onboarded years ago.
He thought it was like Reddit and he posted interesting articles, hivewatchers blasted him for plagiarism and he never posted again.
Dude is so talented and a true loss.
@hivewatchers could help guide and teach new users proper etiquette instead of destroying there rep and moral about hive.
There should be a series of warnings and guiding messages before the downvotes start.
To think how many good people who left because of hive watchers trying to protect the chain…
I’m all about it, but the way the do it needs to be seriously refined.
I’m sure the chain has lost way more good accounts than they have protected the chain from abusers.
Certainly those people chased away would have brought more value than some scammer account cost the chain.
Damn shame in my eyes.
And so it goes…. We Hive on anyway!
