In my time with school kids I have learned a lot of things. One important thing that I learned is not to teach but to learn from them.
When our lessons and classes become more about teaching than in making the kids experience life, the kids often shuts themselves up and do not listen anything.
So, in my opinion the best way to teach is not to teach but to ask tem to teach it to us. This way the kids feel empowered and feel a sense of accomplishment and responsibility.
