Two Cases
Stopping Google Debate Thread - Click Here To Read More - @Sue, it took 8 years in the Breakup of the Bell System which created AT&T in the 1980's. It took like 9 years in United States v. Microsoft Corp. So, in other words, according to Wikipedia, in these types of cases, it appears that it can take many years and lots of money. Microsoft was trying to become a monopoly like IBM. Sadly, we may not have that kind of time now to take our time to go after Google, etc. So, in other words, sadly, Trump is going way too slow. That's what Alex Jones said the other day, that Trump wants to slowly roast his enemies. Slowly. But too slowly. We are running out of time. We have to go faster in turning things around. It's too dangerous to become too patient. We have too many enemies, threats, problems, etc.
Breaking Bell
It took at least eight years for Bell System to split: 1974-1982. This divestiture was initiated by the filing in 1974 by the United States Department of Justice of an antitrust lawsuit against AT&T.
Breaking Windows
United States v. Microsoft Corp. went on for like nine years: 1992-2001. The U.S. government's interest in Microsoft began in 1992 with an inquiry by the Federal Trade Commission over whether Microsoft was abusing its monopoly on the PC operating system market. The suit began in 1998. It ended in settlement in 2001.
