This Sunday will be our seventh Thanksgiving homeless meal. We are planning on 22 sliced turkeys this year, and two are cooking right now.
This is the hardest meal every year, so prayers will be appreciated. We will gave a dozen kitchens, and half a dozen Churches; supporting this meal, so I am glad that GOD is in charge!
So if you are in downtown Tulsa this Sunday at 2 pm, come to 10th and south main; and be GOD's hands! The blessing will stay with you....
We expect 300, and are making turkey, dressing, gravy, and cranberry plus all our normal food. We will have 80 to 100 gallons of hot food, and no one will leave hungry!
These are good people in a bad spot, and they are so happy just to have someone care! With winter here, they are at extreme risk, we had one freeze a week ago. The mayor here is taking their clothes and warm bedding. They need prayer and physical help!!!
These are our servers, and I am so proud of them! Some have been helping for years, asking for nothing but the chance to serve others.
I wish I could hug and pray with all our homeless, we used to be able to, but numbers preclude that now! We have been blessed with two pastors that have volunteered to fill that need. They are better at it than I am anyway, but we may need a third soon.
The Man in the suit was our first pastor volunteer, and is a good Man. The guy next to him is Billy, the one I started this homeless feeding ministry with over 7 years ago.
We had one table, one roaster of chicken and rice, an 8 quart kettle of macaroni and cheese, a 10 foot canopy, and 3 gallons of water to drink. We fed 60 that day.
We should have 15 roasters this time, and will serve 20 gallons of lemonaid, cherry koolaid, gatoraid, coffee, and water; before the day is done.
If you can come help, it will be a special blessing, that will stay with you. There are few things better than a smile on the face of someone, who has had little reason to smile!
For some this will be the best meal they get all year long, and we intend to pour it on! So please say a quick prayer for us Sunday, when you think of it!
Be blessed!
