I must note that Lysander Spooner explained how the Constitution failed in it's express geas to protect the rights of man prior to the Civil War. Today, corrupt politicians shake and rattle it's dry bones like shamans wielding fetishes for their rapt audiences.
Political rhetoric is utterly insipid, and despite your knowledge of history, you seem to have not grasped how rhetoric obfuscates matters of import. Please forgive my insult. I mean it to be constructive criticism that prompts you to consider the complete contrast between rhetoric and action that ubiquitously characterizes politics throughout history.
Reagan spoke many words that were true and inspirational regarding overweening government, and then proceeded to quadruple the national debt and the size of government. Similarly, Trump decried illegal immigration, which has dramatically increased during his administration. It is true I do not care for the man, and carnival barkers in general, but I despise political lies because they substantively matter, as the means of deceiving free people to accept tyranny, which my personal distaste for people doesn't.
My first post on Steem was desperately hoping Trump was different: a statesman rather than a fall guy puppet. My hope dashed, I no longer consider it rational to hope for any benefit from government itself, as government of every kind is necessarily founded on illegitimate principles contrary to the fact of individual sovereignty. Albert Einstein pointed out that hoping the cause of a problem will solve the problem is no less insane than expecting different results when repeating action.
I deeply respect your philosophical principles, but note that rhetoric seems yet to be meaningful to you, despite the proof of history that it inevitably conceals political actions utterly contrary to it's meaning, and is the primary weapon that has degraded the inherent blessings of civilization and society to our generation by serially deceiving us while the power of government to increase it's totalitarian tyranny has been effected.
The 2016 election proved that nomination to candidacy in the USA for the office of President is simply a commodity that is purchased by the highest bidder, and the Mossad agent George Webb admitted that Mossad and the covert surveillance community deliberately destroyed HRC's election in favor of Trump. There is nothing of value in the rhetoric of politicians, despite it being the substance of the documentation that historians depend on.
None of it is anything but lies, and those are the tip of the spear thrust into the heart of freedom.
Thanks!
