I'm posting this article not to debate whether or not Measles is deadly or not and vaccines are safe. My goal is to add some perspective to this whole measles outbreak that the main stream media has been harping on and in my opinion they are encouraging laws makers to remove vaccine exemption laws from the books.

In American political life, the right and the left exist in largely separate spheres. But there is at least one place where the two sides of the divide overlap: the anti-vaccination movement.
Despite overwhelming evidence that vaccinations are safe and protect against dangerous disease, small groups of Americans, on both the left and right, have chosen to reject vaccines for themselves and their children. Their decisions have consequences, as we have seen in Washington state’s Clark County recently. A measles outbreak there has already infected 50 people with no end in sight.

Is Measles deadly?
The short answer is yes but drinking to much water can be deadly too so lets put this into perspective.

Measles deaths are really low in the US in fact they are pretty much non existent in the last 25 years and very low since the introduction of the Measles vaccine in 1963. The lower number of deaths could be because of the introduction of the vaccine or it could be just a coincidences like this next chart will show.

This chart shows that Measles deaths were on the decline well before the introduction of the vaccine. The vaccine does appear to prevent the outbreak of Measles and one can claim save lives but it doesn't explain the decline in deaths before 1963 while having roughly the same number of outbreaks. So It would appear there are other ways to prevent death from Measles besides the vaccine. I think it's safe to assume there are alternative ways at combating an infectious disease than injecting everyone with a vaccine and it's also safe to assume that vaccines carry side effects including death. One only needs to look at a vaccine insert inside every box of vaccines to see the possible serious side effects from a vaccine.

This stand out to me because it shows the serious side effects of vaccines which is death. Sure you can claim well without the measles vaccine we'd have 100,000 of cases a year of the measles and probably hundreds of more deaths. That's probably not far from the truth but what I don't like is all the claims that vaccines are safe because they are not 100% safe. The government and these journalist have to man up and at least say these vaccines save more lives than they kill every year. That would be way more honest than saying "Measles is deadly. Vaccines are not."
Here's a little interesting pdf with some slides from the CDC on measles in the US.

So this current outbreak of measles in Washington state is around 50 people but notice we've had some big outbreaks in the pasts 15 years without this media push to remove exemption laws. 2014 was a huge spike in cases but I don't recall the media focusing so much on that outbreak like this Washington one.

This slide is interesting too because notice 97% of the cases are from people bring measles into the country. So if any laws need to get changed or written they might want to look at the rules and regulations for people that are coming back into this country so they don't spread diseases. Another thing that it interesting at the bottom of the slide is that 26% of the people that got the measles were vaccinated against them. That's a pretty large number if you ask me and makes me question the effectiveness of the vaccine. Is it even possible to have herd immunity where 95% of the population need to be vaccinated to prevent outbreak of disease when 26% of the people that got the measles were vaccinated against it? That's a real question the the media and government doesn't like to bring up. Clearly it's in the CDCs own documents so the information is out there but no one brings it up.

In closing is the measles deadly, yes. Is the vaccine deadly, yes. What's deadlier, probably the measles virus. Is important knowledge and information on the dangers of vaccines being hidden from the general population, I would say yes after looking at some of this data.
