Hey Steemit family,
Thats me in York, another famous Viking haunt.
I'm Tyler and I live in the most amazing (i'm biased) region of the United Kingdom, Northumberland, if your not sure where that is, it's in North East England close to the Scottish borders, if any of you have seen the TV Show Vikings its the region where the Nordic Vikings first invaded on their adventures to the west.
So, let me get this out the way first of all, my day job is working in IT for the NHS, not an exciting day job to say the least and far from the rock and roll lifestyle I was dreaming of as a young dude, but it pays the mortgage and keeps a roof over our heads.
My interests are what I'm passionate about in particular Music and Art, but I've also for just under two years been actively following and investing in some projects I follow in the Cryptocurrency market.
Music wise I'm mainly a rocker and a metalhead, but I do also listen to and appreciate some of the electronic music out there, I'm also a fan of movie and game soundtracks too.
I play guitar and record some of my own riffs, but also mess around with virtual instruments/synths on the PC too, though since purchasing my first iPad years ago, Ive been writing more electronic music on it, its pretty awesome being able to record ideas wherever you are.
I occasionally upload tracks to my Soundcloud account (https://soundcloud.com/jesterknight), I have a few tracks on there, but I haven't got round to uploading anything that I've been composing on the iPad yet.
One of my movie inspired tracks I wrote can be heard here - https://soundcloud.com/jesterknight/thoughts-of-intent
As for Art I am inspired by the drawings and paintings of H.R Giger, Zdzislaw-Beksinski, Salvador Dali and dark horror art, but I'm also inspired by paintings from the likes of Sargent. I'm also fascinated by many concept artists who seem to be able to digitally paint and translate their ideas from their imagination so quickly.
While I'm on that subject, I'm also a horror movie fan, so no doubt you might see some horror content now and again, especially if I catch a cool new movie or just one of my favourite classic 80's horrors.
I've doodled on/off for years now, not really progressing or taking it serious, i'm 39 now and seeing these guys and gals paintings really inspire me to take my drawing/painting to the next level.
I'm going to be using Steemit as one of my blogging platforms to show my progression as a novice artist, so i'll be writing about my practice sessions, reviewing the books, sites, courses i'll be learning from and obviously uploading my doodles for you guys to check out.
I'll be starting from the beginning in order to try and nail the fundamentals, so that means there is going to be a lot of basic stuff for a wee while in the beginning, but hopefully you'll get to see me grow as an artist.
Gonna be alot of Cubes...
Many folk out there interested in drawing and painting don't even bother trying to start as they think they have no talent or gift for drawing, if your reading this and a total novice or sitting on the fence about learning to draw, then I'm just like you, a total beginner... I'm doing this blog to show my progress as an artist and to show you that with plenty of focused practice you can do the same.
To quote a horribly overused cliché “If I can do it, then you can definitely do it”!
BTW – here are some doodles I've done over the years.
As you can see not a lot to go on and I have one hell of a journey ahead.
I'm aiming to post most days, but you all know how life gets in the way, especially with work and family, but when you have as cute kid as mine you don't mind at all!
My greatest creation ever!
If you want to see how I progress, give me some advice or find anything in my posts informative, why not give me a follow and it would be awesome to see an upvote and resteem, I might just be able to inspire some other potential artists out there too.
Oh and before I go, I just want to make one thing clear... Hawaiian Pizza rules!
