Introduction post

Hello, fellow Steemians and bloggers!

This post is a little overdue possibly as I have been posting blogs for a week now but I guess I was a tad over-eager to start sharing with you all! So who am I and what do I write/blog about? For the sake of simplicity, I will structure this blog in an interview-style so you can all have an easier time reading through and for my own amusement, my interviewer will be rude, sarcastic and mock me throughout.

"So who are you exactly?"

I am a 31-year-old who started in the fitness industry way back when I was 17, essentially lifting weights to impress girls due to my general inability to speak to them. Soon thereafter I became enamoured with food and more importantly how I could get RIPPED, as working out alone seemed to only get me so far (I was about 18 please bear in mind).

"Seems like you failed to get RIPPED?"

Well, a funny thing happened, I quickly realised there was a whole spectrum of fitness out there and being the most muscular guy in the gym wasn't the sole extent of it. I instead became fascinated with training, health and nutrition and the science behind how it all worked, in isolation and in unison. I then began working with other people to try to help them achieve their physical and mental goals.

"Ok calm down Tony Robbins, sounds like you were a PT?"

I was for a time but I was dissatisfied with what I knew so I went to university to learn more about exercise physiology, sports nutrition and health. I ended up with a Bachelors in Nutrition and Health and a love for all things regarding evidence-based health.

"Seems like a lot of effort to teach step aerobics?"

Yeah, I thought so too and I ended up moving away from the fitness field, dissatisfied for many reasons (that is for another blog). I pursued further education in the food arena and recently completed my Masters in Food Science, having gone from the focus on individual health to how food systems can operate sustainably for the benefit of society as a whole.

"Calm down Messiah, so what will this blog be about again?"

I will write fitness and food articles in an evidence-based manner for the most part. I understand that fitness and health is a cauldron of opinions and beliefs, so I will hope to offer a scientific perspective in some cases or in other just what I have known to be effective. Also, I will have many memes, jokes at my own expense and just a light-hearted attitude in general.

"I will read it for the memes"

I will leave it there, for now, hope to speak with you all soon!
