Hi Steemians. Today more about my time in Japan.
The coastal town Ine
Ine is a small town located on the western coast of Japan in Kyoto prefecture. Since the coastal hills are quite steep all the houses are pretty much streched over about a few 100 meters of coastline. With the sea so close most of Ine's population is a fisherman. So their house are appropriately called Funeya which translates as Fishermen-house. These houses are mostly still traditional and have a characteristic architecture to them.
These houses are mostly build from wood. The water-level floor is used to store the boat and fishermen live in the above floors.
The first time I visited was very lucky with the weather. Since this place is coastal and surrounded by high hills the weather can be subject to a lot of change. The second time I visited this town together with my friends the skies were pouring. But luckily I already shot nice photos on my first visit :)
How to get there
Ine is a bit inconveniently located for a day-trip from the big cities which are closest to it (Kyoto,Osaka,Nara), since it has no rail-way station. If you want to travel from Kyoto,Osaka,Nara to Ine you first need to take the train to Miyazu and from there you can take the bus to Ine. There are hostels and Airbnb places available in Ine. But it might be better to book a place in Miyazu since it is better connected to other beautiful locations.
Thanks for reading. Hope this gives you nice travel ideas :)
