Norifumi "Kid" Yamamoto was an MMA trailblazer and a pioneer of the sport with his first professional fight being in 2001, the MMA community is today in shock as Kid Yamamoto passes away at the age of 41 after battling cancer.

I was unaware that Kid Yamamoto was ill so his death comes as a complete surprise, Kid was perhaps the first and biggest MMA export from Japan and has fought in some of the biggest promotions including K1, Dream, Shooto and the UFC with his last fight being in the UFC in 2015.

Kid Yamamoto was also the founder of Krazy Bee gym which is home to some of the worlds best Japanese fighters including Kyoji Horiguchi and Boku Koutetsu. I am sure Kid will be sorely missed R.I.P Norifumi "Kid" Yamamoto.
