I must be getting old because I'm paying much more attention to detail and nature then ever. Maybe is not age related, maybe is due to posting nature photos here. Or maybe both, who knows? But it doesn't really matter because I'm getting old anyway, no matter what I do, which is a good thing in a way. Funny I'm saying this isn't it?
I had a neighbor who always wanted to look smart, to be smart, smarter than anyone. He used to tell people "May God help you get old". People were always shocked and many didn't understand what he's talking about, they thought he's being disrespectful because everyone wants to stay young. Then he started to explain that getting old is actually a good thing as it means you get to live a long life. You can't stay young forever, you can't stop again. It was funny at first but got boring after a time.
Anyway, today I want to show you some tree photos I took not long ago while walking.
This poor tree is on the ground now, I don't know why though. There must have been a reason why it needed to be cut, I hope it wasn't because it was in the way of something or someone. The tree looks pretty healthy to me but then again what do I know? I'm not an expert, I'm just an observer and photographer.
If you look closer, you can see the rings that indicate the tree's age. This is the reason I took the photo.
This is another piece underneath the other one and most likely part of the same tree. This piece looks healthy as well in my eyes.
Another piece on the ground, however this is very different from the other two. This is not cut, at least this end is not. This is broken and that's why it offers a different view. The rings can still be visible but in another way.
I was wondering how great it would be if I could make a drawing about this, although I know it would be a huge challenge, one that I'm not ready for it yet. These details are very important when it comes to drawing, this is the most important thing and I still have a lot to learn. Maybe one day.
