Hello .
The Oilers trade Ryan Spooner for Sam Gagner, who they originally drafted back in 2007. In trading Eberle for Strome who they traded for Spooner, and now back to a player they drafted, they essentially threw Eberle away.
Interesting move, but Gagner is an improvement over Spooner, Edmonton trying to improve up the wing, so decent move on their part.
I am on my computer, half watching the game when I hear, "Sam Gagner, wearing his familiar number 89". I say to myself, "hmm, I guess Gagner got traded to the Islanders". Nope, I was wrong!
Vancouver Canucks have aquired Ryan Spooner from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for Sam Gagner
Sam Gagner was the last Oiler to get 8 points in a single game since Gretzky. He’s not going to save this team but the Oilers need secondary scoring badly so this trade made sense.
