Damselflies by the lake

The weather here in the UK has been unseasonally warm the last few weeks, so where better to head than a small local lake to take the kids sailing and snap a few pics.

These bright blue damselflies caught my eye in the reeds by the shore but I only had a cheap 55-200mm zoom to try and capture them with. I needed steady hands and a lot of luck but managed to grab a few decent images. Let me know what you think!

The one below is the female of the species, and has more of the darker markings than the males in the images above. Much harder to spot!
