For this weeks #marketfriday by @dswigle wander along with me at Chinatown,Singapore
This is my 4th #marketfriday .Yayyy😊!!!!
A place bursting with culture and heritage as well as a paradise for foodies, shopaholics and what not.
Chinatown is totally opposite from the rest of the city with old fashioned buildings. Also you can find food and merchandise at relatively lower prices.
There is soo much to do in Chinatown.I loved the place soo much that I visited it twice😁
We just set aside one complete day for exploring this amazing place.Even after that we missed a lot.
Ditched the camera on the second time so as we could roam around freely.Do remember to carry an umbrella as it can rain anytime in Singapore as well as carry enough water with you.Bottled water is a bit costly in SG.
Let the pictures do the rest of the talking👇
For the first time in my life I was happy walking through cramped alleys😁
Red and golden can be found throughout Chinatown!
Chocolates!!
Never ending souvenir shops
Realistic and cute fridge magnets
Out of all the shops this was my favorite👇
Chopstick shop!! Didn't know there were these many varieties!!!😃 Quite interesting.
A stand for chopsticks?Wonderful!!!
As a person who have never used chopsticks ,I gave a try at them.Found out I was not that bad at handling them😁
Apart from souvenir and othe merchandise,we also took a look at the spice and grocery shops.
You can get anything in dried form here.I doubt seen frogs in the above picture!!!The other one looks like jelly fish and dried mussels.
Chinatown's food street~Dine like a local here. And do not miss the famous Chilly Crab if you can shell out about 25SGD (well that's the starting price)for a few grams!!!!
Crocodile meat and oil were seen throughout CT.
There are a lot of pictures. It would be boring if I add each one of it.Also I have many small video footages. So I made a compilation of all those.Beware but!!! I have never made a travel video before😁 nor have any experience in video editing. Have tried to make it as interesting as possible.Took these videos when I was not even aware of Steemit.Had I known it then,I would have taken better videos😶.And don't forget to give me tips as it might help me in future😊
Here it is and my first DTube👇
Walk with me...Chinatown,Singapore
As I said earlier Chinatown is not just about shopping and food.
We also visited Budha Tooth Relic Temple
Also you can visit Sri Mariamman Temple, Singapore's oldest Hindu temple where you can explore a little Indian culture too.
It was only after returning we came to know about the guided tours of Chinatown Heritage Centre and Museum. Also heard there was a similar Arab street nearby.
Really had a great time and would I visit Singapore again?Ofcourse its a big YES😊
Happy Steeming
