Menē 24k Gold Button vs. YouTube Gold Play Button

The Youtube Gold Play Button is an award given out for channels that have achieved 1,000,000 subscribers. It looks like this:

The YouTube Gold Play Button is several pounds and would be very difficult to affix to an item of clothing. There is no way to fit it into your pocket as it is quite bulky.

There are a number of videos on YouTube of people cutting open their Youtube Gold play buttons. Some tests have been done and the best I can determine there is a very thin layer of gold plating on part of the button. The test I saw revealed about 15% gold on part of the button, or .2 grams. I have no way of knowing how accurate this is but this give an idea of how much gold might be in the Youtube gold play button.
