Hello Kind Mindful Steemians!
So, having started 1st ever SGM (Steemit Group Meditation) on 1st May 2019, we had 11th SGM on 5th June. And it was slightly eventful ๐- which we will go on to in a moment. But, yes we continue to meditate together in the Meditation Hall on @naturalmedicine Discord Server twice weekly. Fancy to get a test of SGM (Steemit Group Meditation) in the Meditation Hall? I had just finished the work on Wednesday, 5th June (yep, long day) and @consciousangel7 @plantstoplanks @vincentnijman were already in the Meditation Hall when I entered. Then many meditators followed and we had quite a big group in the Meditation Hall this Wednesday.

@santoshpradhan @yangyanje @tryskele @vibesforlife @VincentNijman meditated together in the peaceful virtual Meditation Hall. After the initial intro and simple guide, we entered into the ZONE.
- First, we checked in to see the state of the mind - whether it was pleasant, unpleasant or neutral without judgement, we just observed it.
- Then we told ourselves "I'm going to meditation and I want to enjoy this moment. I don't want to think about the past or the future." Giving nudging instruction to the mind.
- We then prepared our body for meditation by tightening muscles to release some endorphin.
- We filled ourselves with an attitude of gratitude to increase our happy chemical, serotonin.
- Then we put our whole attention to our breath*.
- We then moved our attention to each part of the body.
- And finished it with love-kindness meditation.
*And the "phone call" on the title came during the breath meditation. And it was my daughter trying to call her mother. Normally, she would have been asleep but that day was too bright for her to sleep at 8:30. So, what do I do? Smiled and said hmmm.....this is a very good practice for meditation๐ง๐ผโโ๏ธ๐ง๐ผโโ๏ธ. Disturbance and distraction (be it in the form of sound or thoughts or emotions) are regular visitors during meditation and our job is to try and keep one-pointed concentration on the meditation object without getting frustrated or angered at the distraction. Easier said than done I know but with practice and persistence, we will get there. As many learned teachers kept saying "Continuous practice is the secret to success." So, if you would like to strengthen your practice or just need a little bit of nudge/support to continue practising meditation or just want to test it out - why not join us?

(5:30-5:40pm check in & brief guidance, 5:40-6:40pm guided meditation and 6:40 to 7:00pm Q & A plus chitchat).
But you are welcome to join just guided meditation session if time prevents you from joining the whole time.
