Greetings fellow travelers along the way. Today’s full moon is a perfect time to harvest the rewards of your past month. The full moon is the equivalent of the peak in the cycle, and thus the time symbolically of harvesting whatever you have planted since the new moon two weeks ago.
This symbolic harvest time needn’t be literally garden produce, although that is equally good. The full moon moment is a time to celebrate, harnessing the light of the glowing moon at night to see by. And also on a subtler level, there is a lot more energy in the atmosphere, more agitation and dynamism, that comes with a full moon. You may have noticed the full and new moon to be times of more extreme tides in the ocean, based on the fact that the two most important heavenly bodies are combining their gravity in an aligned setup. with the earth. Thus the more prominent pull of gravitational energy on the ocean as well as on all fluids.
And remember that our bodies are made up of 70% water, much like the earth planet covered by the oceans. So in a similar way, our bodily fluids, including brain fluids, are subject to an extra gravitational pull today. That is sometimes given as the reason that some folks with weak minds or easily suggestible personality, might feel at odds with themselves or more animated (manic) than usual over this time. Not to worry, this too shall pass. It’s just a phase...of the moon.
Full moon is a great time to perform a ceremony, or a little ritual for yourself or in your own way, as you engage in your spiritual journey, your journey of consciousness, or as you walk the path of enlightenment on the earth. This human form of life is a great opportunity to work on awakening heightened consciousness, in whatever way you may see fit or may have heard about from others who walked the path before us. And these full moon moments are just right for marking the calendar in a synchronized way, in alignment with the moon and its cycles.
The reason why the number 13 is seen so superstitiously is because the masculine patriarchal religions took over from the more feminine pre-modern cultures and in doing so denigrated or undermined the feminine path, which was lunar based. And the moon happens to have 13 cycles in a year, or 13 full moons annually. So anything regarding nature worship, goddess or Mother Earth, or the Moon, was banished into the unconscious of the human psyche. The old gods usually become the devils of the new system, which is usually introduced for political reasons. The Roman Empire wanted to dominate the known world and so adopted the new patriarchal religions of the day by grafting upon the old their own labels. They grafted their own labels onto the old festival dates, like Christmas and Easter, which are pre-Christian festival dates.
So you never know what you are really doing until you investigate the roots of your modern culture and its history. Then you find out that things are not what they seem to be, and that what we are told is often not the full story. It pays to remember to question everything and investigate deeper into the Mysteries, religions or teachings that you are presented today. Much of the hidden truths are astronomical pointers, or myths that allude to a time in history when certain planetary and stellar alignments occur. The astronomical positions are hidden in stories and myths, and the reasons why we do what we do on occasions of religious observance are hidden or lost in the mists of time – unless we make an effort to find out.

Wisdoms and mindful musings
Today’s curation is blessed by the inspiring words, song and poetry of @breezin in this post on healing and stepping out of ones comfort zones. Read her story and listen to her song to get some inspiration for your own personal challenges. Life is limited and we all have only our allotted time in this body so use it to the best of your ability and have no regrets left over once you move on.
And then in tune with this full moon in the month of Scorpio, when the meditation is on our temporary time here with our demise ever awaiting us, @porters writes a thought-provoking post on what we may leave behind when we’re gone. Again, the theme of our fleeting moment in this body and the imminent end to it, is echoed in this post. This is naturally on our minds as age brings us closer to our end, but also is on the mind of any sincere meditator or seeker of consciousness, regardless of their age. We practice self-reflection to know ourselves better, and when we contemplate our true identity, then naturally the temporary nature of the body feels at odds with our feeling of eternal consciousness. This is why those who walk on the path of awakening see beyond their temporary material existence and on to an eternal existence.
This full moon is a perfect time to contemplate our transience here as well as our transcendence beyond the here and now. So use this week to imbibe the insights of our fine posts and their authors, regarding the bigger picture. It will see you in good stead when you find your own time to transcend arising.
