Last nights UFC 224 saw Vitor Belfort retire from the sport of MMA at the age of 41. Any fan of MMA would have heard of Vitor Belfort, his classic finish of Wanderlai Silva in 1998 is actually the first fight i saw and got me in to following the sport.

It is an unfortunate way to go out as he lost by quite a nasty KO at the hands of Lyoto Machida who in a show of respect did not celebrate his highlight reel KO of his countryman.

Whatever the case may be Vitor leaves a legacy that will surely guarantee him a place in the UFC hall of fame, Vitor's career saw him become champion way back in 2004 against Randy Couture and he has fought all the note worthy competitors of his time.
