The monetary system is stifling human creativity, and holding back all human society from thriving at a level unthinkable today. If we all collaborated towards improving the world's capacity for life, we could make everyone's existence magnitudes better. Look at what was accomplished for the space race, for the world wars. Imagine global efforts of similar passion for actually fixing things, for ending poverty, hunger, disease, pollution, etc. Maybe I'm an idealist, but I believe humanity can come together and fix all the problems we've created. The thing that is holding us back as a species is money, and moneyed interests. The international corporations and billionaire class doesn't want humanity to unite to fix our problems, to make ourselves self-sufficient. That would make them have less power to control the world, and they don't want that. So to truly collaborate, we have to circumvent the giant corporations. I think avenues like Steemit will someday lead us there, but without a shared goal it will never happen. That's why I like to plant the seed of collaboration towards improving humanity where I can.
I realize many people won't want to think about why money is problematic, or why they shouldn't purchase from companies like Nestle, Coca-cola, Unilever, Chevron, etc, etc. These kinds of thoughts require truly questioning how you live your life, and what kind of impact you have. But I think that sort of introspection is incredibly important to making smart choices. If you'd like to learn more about what kinds of changes you can make to be more supportive of collaboration, and of a better world, please let me know.
